Blueberries

The 2010 blueberry season is over. Frozen blueberries are available for purchase at the farm store.

History of Blueberries on the Farm

Mr. Frank and Mrs. Pat planted the first acre of blueberries in 1976 while working on a project with Dr. Booker T. Whatley from Tuskegee University. This lead to the approximate 10 acres we currently have in production. There are about 13 different varieties on the farm, including southern highbush in containers for early season production and field-grown rabbiteye blueberries.

Picking or Ordering Blueberries

Blueberry season lasts from June to August, during which time the farm opens Tuesday - Saturday from 7am to 7pm. We sell our blueberries pre-picked, or you can pick them yourself. As the season nears an end, we will notify customers signed up for Farm Updates of changing hours and the last days to come pick. Those hours will also be posted on our calendar. Before you make the trip, be sure to check the calendar to make sure the gates will be open, or call ahead (334-749-1073).

To order pre-picked blueberries, give us a call (334-749-1073) or send us a message with your order.

While our you-pick prices have not changed in a few seasons, our pre-picked and out-of-season prices vary depending on cost of labor, supply, and demand. To get the best prices and the best product, come early and often throughout the season!
